Learning Link
Use Your DDSD School ID as a Library Card
Through Learning Link, Delavan-Darien School District (DDSD) students can use their school ID as a public library card, making it easier to access books, digital resources, educational tools and more.
Learning Link is a partnership between Delavan-Darien School District and Delavan Public Library designed to remove barriers and connect students with valuable community resources
How It Works
Parents and guardians can opt in to Learning Link through the school district. Once permission is provided, the student’s information is securely added to the library system.
No separate library card application or additional documentation is required.
The student’s school ID can then be used to access participating public library resources.
What Can Students Access?
Learning Link connects students with:
- More than 1.7 million books, movies, games and other physical materials
- E-books and digital audiobooks
- Online learning tools, Research databases and educational resources
- Library programs & events
- Library Services like reading recommendations, test proctoring, public computers, copy/fax/printing, and of course–research help (just ask any librarian)
- Free or discounted admission opportunities to Wisconsin attraction
Learning Link gives you access to more Than Delavan Public Library!
Delavan Public Library is part of the Prairie Lakes Library System and SHARE Consortium, which connects libraries throughout Racine, Rock, and Walworth Counties (see all the locations here). Learning Link gives students access to the shared resources available through this larger network of public libraries.
Why Learning Link?
Learning Link offers guardians an easy way to get their student(s) access to all the library offers by simply checking a box on their DDSD enrolment form. This means your first visit to the library won’t involve additional forms or any need to provide documentation beyond showing your student ID at checkout.
Easier and more equitable access to the online and in-person library resources makes better use of shared, taxpayer-funded resources; helps strengthen connections between schools, libraries, and families; and supports student learning and achievement.
Privacy
Student information is added to the library’s secure, private library system only after parent or guardian approval.
Checkout records are deleted when items are returned unless the cardholder requests their checkout history to be enabled.
